I will get to the 100 days.. eventually!!
I’ve picked up swimming, more specifically, I’m trying to re-learn crawl. Just two weeks in, and things seems to be getting a tiny bit better every time I’m in the water, but I’m kind of facing a different problem now:
I’m afraid of the dark, in the water.
Dark patches of seaweed, murky water etc.
I have no idea how to conquer this. Today I was swimming above long stretches of short, dark green seaweed. It actually looked quite peaceful and pretty, but some where inside me (instinct maybe?), I get this little voice saying hurry up. And I get in to a small panic mode, and all thoughts on swim technique goes out and only moving fast forward becomes important.
It’s really frustrating.
Other than that, it’s a great challenge. Makes me interested and alert, and I love how I can feel small differences every time I jump in the water. (Just not above darkness). I still need a lot correction, both with my shoulders and my breathing, but at least I’m not thinking I’m gonna drown anymore. (Win!)
